Hypnosis The Truth – What it WONT Do
Hypnosis has been given a bit of a bad reputation sometimes by the media, and just simple mis-information. Contrary to some sources you will not acquire the ability to completely dominate someone esles mind or have complete control over another human being.
The bottom line is there’s nothing about hypnotherapy which will allow you to completely take over someone elses thoughts and dominate them. So if this is your intention you should stop here right now.
The misconceptions are almost endless. The most common misconception ones being associated to this overwhelming power the hypnotist acquires. Yes it can be true that you’ll own a kind of power over the thoughts of your clients, nevertheless this is not to imply it is possible to overpower them entirely.
An example of this comes from the stage hypnotherapists. Stage hypnotists will ask for several volunteers for his act from their audience, the participants know on some level that they’ll be asked when it’s in a hypnotic state to complete tasks that they wouldn’t normally do, tasks they may even find embarrassing under usual conditions.
However on some level they are volunteering simply because they want the attention that arises from being exhibitionists and taking part. They know are going to be controlled by the hypnotist and perhaps they are consciously alright with it because it will not cause any conflict with their moral code and they look forward to the experience.
Another common myth which follows hypnosis around is that you could create a person so manipulated that they may do your evil bidding, or acts which you as the hypnotist may not desire to be personally accountable for. This again is untrue and not is not possible.
The truth is conversational hypnosis is a method of healing and supporting people to live better, more healthy and happier lifestyles through the art of language and suggestion. Hypnotherapy is used to its full potential when everyone benefits from it. A client which is given the subconscious message to do harm to another personal for example would nott carry out the suggestion because it will conflict with their morals. This level of control is always kept under all circumstances.
So hypnosis can’t be used for outright manipulation, to force people to commit terrible acts against their will, but it can simply lead them down a particular path, and influence them in a way which will benefit you.
